Why should we eat pork during New Year’s Eve?

There is a saying in Hungary that goes something like this: ’Luck man has the pork’.
 So, again, what should we do to make sure that we’ll be lucky enough the coming year? Actually, eating pork is as important as eating lentil, when it comes to the topic of luck. It is crucial, however, that one knows that it is absolutely forbidden to consume pork on the last day of the year. We shall eat only on the first, and then it is a must! Quite often, a four-leaf clover is in the mouth of the pig. It is also interesting to know that only specific parts of the animal means luck, so consuming a whole pork won’t do any good for us.
