New Year’s Eve is a sensitive thing, because everybody wants to have the best party in the year, and collect nice memories. House parties, sleepovers, and huge parties are popular, but a lot of people spend this night at street festivals – for example, at Vörösmarty Square -, and some of them choose to travel in this period. To Budapest, of course! How superb is it to clink champagne glasses in the heart of the city?
In the capital, there are several parties on the last night of the year, from small pub event to crazy feasts. Everything is given for your best New Year’s Eve! At the city’s favourite squares, they organise big feasts with concerts and fireworks, as well. If you would like to spend the night outside, brace yourself and bring some spirits, mulled wine and tea with rum. Believe us, Hungarian weather can be tough! If you would like to dress up a bit crazy, that’s okay too – Hungarians grab every opportunity to dress up, (even if it’s not Halloween,) so don’t hesitate!
